konverjdans, the women-led, Brooklyn-based contemporary ballet company co-founded and co-directed by Amy Saunder, Jordan Miller, and Tiffany Mangulabnan, launches its ninth New York season with the premiere of Buried Giants, the company’s first full-length, evening-long production—an imaginative multimedia dance-theater work inspired by Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel The Buried Giant.

Blending contemporary ballet with theatrical storytelling, original music, design, and projected media, Buried Giants explores themes of memory, love, loss, and collective forgetting. Drawing from Ishiguro’s mythic landscape, the work considers what is gained—and what is lost—when painful histories are buried, and how both personal and communal memory shape the present.

Buried Giants will feature:

New & original choreography by the three konverjdans directors with story & concept led by Amy Saunder and writer/cinematographer Joe Raffanti

An original musical score by Alexis Gideon & Khotomeh

Costume design by Reshma Patel-Cline

Lighting design by Conor Mulligan

New short films by Nine Mile Productions

Performances from dancers Antuan Byers, JoVonna Parks, Peter Cheng, Alyssa Forte, Allegra Herman, Tiffany Mangulabnan, Jordan Miller, and Amy Saunder
