the last supper

Join us for the premiere of the last supper, a new evening-length work-in-process by Rachael Lieblein-Jurbala Dance Works, featuring performances by Jackie Dodds, Quetzali Hart, Jayde Margulis, and Christine West, presented by Arts on Site!

the last supper considers what unfolds after a monumental or mundane moment of choice - a metaphor for the impact a single person can have on history, and the power we each hold to enact change, sustain complicity, or preserve continuity.

Infinite choices are made at each second of every day - what route to take, what secret to tell, what button to press, who to call - and the magnitude of their impact often goes unknown to the choice-maker. From morning rituals to history-shaping moments: the discovery of penicillin, the saving of a species, the prevention of nuclear war, the founding of a world religion - the piece traces the ripple effects of decision-making across scales of impact. the last supper considers the moments between cause and consequence, inviting audiences to reflect on the infinite futures - micro and macro - our choices may already be setting in motion.
