#GetCounted by September 30 - Ways to Talk about the Census at Arts and Culture Programs

Dance/NYC is urging the New York City metropolitan dance community to complete the 2020 United States Census and be counted!

There are less than 10 days to complete the census and thanks to #culturecounts there’s a nice script to talk about the Census at your virtual arts and culture programs:

“This month we’re joining with arts and cultural organizations throughout New York City to encourage you, our audience members, to complete the 2020 Census. Each New Yorker counted represents $3,000 in federal funding for our city each year and helps ensure adequate representation in Congress. An accurate population count is critical! Please go to my2020census.gov to answer 10 short questions before the deadline of September 30. Responses are private and no questions are asked about citizenship or immigration status. The website again is: my2020census.gov. Thank you!”

TIP: if you have an incentive to offer those who complete the census on the spot (ie. free tickets, free membership), it makes for a stronger pitch and response rate!
