Open Call for Dancers

Open Call for Dancers Carlo OC

Open call for dancers

Dance To The People is an itinerant dance project aiming to provide an open and shared space for dance training, improvisation, choreography and movement research, to anybody interested in pursuing these collectively. We began activities last September in Staten Island thanks to the CUNY dance initiative. We are now expanding the program to Brooklyn and soon to more places.

We are inviting those in the dance community, who would like to take advantage of the resources the community can provide for each other, to be a part of Dance To The People.

The way it works for the following sessions, is that we meet for one hour of technique, one hour of improvisation and one hour of choreography. Technique and improvisation will be lead by different members, and choreography will be lead by Maira Duarte for January. For this last hour we are asking for a commitment to most sessions (for obvious reasons). We will be showing an open performance of this work at Movement Research on February 10. But if you can't make it to the performance, you can still come to class.

We're meeting Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 9am to 12pm. At Brooklyn Arts Exchange.
