Candidates should be able to teach modern, ballet, jazz, and other dance forms, as well as choreography and improvisation. Responsibilities will include teaching a multiple ­level modern dance class and multi­ple level ballet and jazz, managing and coordinating the program’s faculty and budget, producing annual dance concerts, and fulfilling other responsibilities related to the dance program. Responsibilities in addition to the above will include involvement in the afternoon and evening arts program and will include student advising responsibilities.

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Dance and MA/MFA in Dance, dance education, or related fields preferred (or equivalent training); minimum two years’ teaching experience, preferably at the high school level; strong practicing background and knowledge of dance; interest and demonstrated ability in teaching and supporting adolescents; ability to work well with a range of students; pedagogies in the classroom; sense of humor, flexibility, energy, collegiality, and the ability to work effectively with a team; willingness to incorporate innovative strong organizational skills and high energy and creativity; commitment to the overall life and program of the school.
