DEADLINE EXTENSION: Due to a high volume of requests to extend the deadline for submissions and a refocusing of our call, we are excited to announce we have extended the Application Deadline for our 10th Anniversary Season. The NEW DEADLINE is April 25th, 2016.

In celebration of 10 years of presenting world class dance, this year’s festival will include a BEST OF program, featuring audience favorites from the past 10 years, as well as the Main Event performances and Level UP, a commissioned evening for three artists.

The Festival offers performances in New York City at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center and Huntsville, Texas at Sam Houston State University. This is an exciting opportunity for choreographers to present larger and smaller works in a fully produced dance festival, teach master classes and be considered for future residencies.

As a part of our continued mission to find up-and-coming choreographic talent at the international level, the Dance Gallery Festival is proud to continue our latest addition to our festival activities, Level UP. Level UP serves as a performance showcase for three talented dance companies/choreographers that are ready to advance to the next level in the development and promotion of their work. Each company will receive 25 minutes of performance time in the Level UP concert and a Commission Fee. Past choreographers have included: Gabrielle Lamb, Manuel Vignoulle and Joshua L. Peugh, to name a few. Many choreographers have gotten new commissions after the Festival and Joshua L. Peugh was picked as one of 25 to Watch by Dance Magazine in 2015.

Festival Dates: November 3-5 2016 in TX, and November 10-13 2016 in NYC
