Pointe Shoe Fitting Specialist at Gaynor Minden Boutique

Gaynor Minden has an opening for a Pointe Shoe Fitting Specialist in our New York City Boutique on 16th Street.

You would be joining a dedicated team of current and former dancers who work together to provide an outstanding customer experience to a diverse community of ballet dancers. Gaynor Minden is an innovative and exciting brand, welcoming diverse perspectives and combining a traditional world with 21st century technology. We also recently released our "Core Colors", a growing collection of pointe shoes and accessories in a beautiful spectrum of colors to complement a wider variety of skin tones. 

Duties include conducting one-on-one pointe shoe fittings, engaging in online and phone consultations, and representing the Gaynor Minden brand at events throughout New York City.

The open position is part-time and requires consistent availability for 8-hour shifts Saturday through Tuesday, but could lead to full-time employment - Many of our senior staffers started by working in our Boutique.

Assets of a successful candidate are: 

Strong knowledge of ballet and pointework
Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail
Great interpersonal skills
Comfort working as a team
Patience and a sense of humor

Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.
