Calling all dancers for Brooklyn Flash Mob performance!

 
A Test of Fifth Event April 10th!

Spoke the Hub Dancing has been invited to “shake it up” again
for a third year at 5th Avenue BID’s annual “Taste Of 5th” foodfest in the Grand Prospect Ballroom where over 45 of Brooklyn’s finest eating and drinking establishments pull out their delectable stops while they also raise money for local charities and community groups (like Spoke the Hub!)

To this end, Spoke the Hub is seeking dozens of trained and untrained dancers of all ages to learn two minutes of moderately simple choreography and then join us on the dance floor around 7pm on Tuesday April 10th to cut up the rug to a little music by Elvis. Rehearsals begin in March 9 and 10 and wil lbe held on Friday evenings, 7:00 - 8:30pm OR Saturdays 4:30-6:00pm at the Spoke the Hub Re:Creation Center, 748 Union Street, close to 6th Avenue, in Park Slope.

Dubbed the “ Cecil B. De Mille of Dance in Brooklyn” as well as a “ visionary” and a “community treasure”, choreographer Elise Long , Founder and Director of Spoke the Hub Dancing, has been making these simple, fun, large-scale, accessible, community positive, dancing “flash mobs” for all ages and skill levels for over forty years (in addition to her other more experimental dance/theater works which have been presented in the States, Canada and abroad, as well as in lowbrow venues like parades, on the Staten Island Ferry, and in pizza joints and at higher brow venues such as Lincoln Center, the World Trade Center and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
