CALL FOR MODERN DANCERS: VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

Dancer with dark hair and wearing a red dress dancing on beach PC: Devin Poore

Dance Alchemy for the Soul is seeking professional dancers (both female and male identifying) for an upcoming choreographic project with both live performance and filmed components, premiering Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 (NYC performances/showing dates TBA).

This new piece is rooted in contemporary and modern dance, supported by a strong technical foundation in ballet and somatic practice. Dancers should be open to physical inquiry, emotional depth, and working within a practice that prioritizes presence, nuance, and spiritual intelligence through the body. The work emphasizes clear lines, grounded articulation, and dynamic phrasing, while inviting dancers into a space of embodied storytelling and subtle emotional depth.  Part of the Mapping the Heart project, it explores the emotional body, heart field, and the subtle energies of connection through dance. The process is deeply collaborative, somatic, and intuitive—melding contemporary and modern dance with ritual, embodiment, and inner alchemy.

Qualifications:

Strong technical foundation in ballet and modern dance
Experience in contemporary dance and strong performance presence
Comfort with somatic, improvisational practices and meditation all a plus
Open, collaborative mindset and a willingness to engage with movement as an expressive and transformational process

Details:

Weekly x2 rehearsals begin July 2025
Rehearsals held in Hoboken, NJ (easily accessible via public transportation from NYC)
