Applications Open for Performance Mix Festival #40

Performance Mix Festival is BACK at Abrons in 2026! The upcoming Performance Mix Festival marks the 40th anniversary of our iconic performance art celebration, and we plan to celebrate it in a special way! Read below for more info on how to apply to show your emerging, movement-based performance art with us in June 2026.


Performance Mix Festival: 40
June 4–7, 2026
Deadline for application is November 27th, 2025 11:59pm. 


All works selected from application will be short works up to 15 minutes. These works will be performed Thursday, June 4th, Friday, June 5th and Sunday, June 7th.

Guidelines to apply:

- The work presented must be a short work 15 minutes or under 
- Artists will be selected by a panel of previous Performance Mix Artists
- 2025 Performance Mix artists are not eligible to apply
- Artists enrolled in an undergraduate degree program are not eligible to apply
- Must be resident of New York City 
- No films will be taken by application

Performance Mix Artists receive the following benefits:

- 8 hours of complimentary studio space at NDA’s studio in Tribeca.
- Complimentary video and photo documentation of performance
- Marketing promotion via the NDA website; press release; social media; and e-blasts to the press, presenters and benefactors. NDA’s website features artists’ photo, biographies, festival schedule and videos.
- Technical team 
- $300 performance stipend

Please note that technical rehearsals will take place the week leading up to the Mix: June 1st–5th, 2026. 

***Note on accessibility into the Underground Theater at Abrons Arts Center***
The lower level of the Underground Theater, both seating and performance space, is only accessible via stairs.
