Call for Submissions: Diffraction Dance Festival 2026 (AAPI+ Choreographers)
The 2nd annual Diffraction Dance Festival is a curated performance platform presented by Samaw Dance, created to uplift AAPI+ identifying artists and celebrate AAPI+ month. We are seeking AAPI+ identifying choreographers to share work that feels intentional and centered, rooted in lived experiences. Selected artists will present their work as part of Diffraction Dance Festival 2026, taking place on May 31, 2026, at Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn. This performance will include lighting, photography, and videography, with a thrust seating configuration.
We welcome work across styles (hip hop, street styles, cultural, contemporary, jazz, etc.) and approaches, and we encourage artists at all stages of their choreographic practice to apply. All works should be 5–7 minutes in length. Selected artists are expected to support ticket sales and marketing efforts.
Submissions are due February 22, 2026.
Full details and submission link are available via the link in bio. There is no application fee.
