ELSEHERE International Call for Works
Company: ELSEHERE
Compensation: Artist catalog entry, work distribution, potential future commissions, label artist pathways, partnerships.
ELSEHERE is an international arts nexus operating across development, production, commissioning, publishing, and cross-border partnership. We work with artists, thinkers, and institutions across regions and languages, building pathways for work to be made, framed, circulated, and remembered
This open call is for visual and screen-translatable works (and their documentation). We are selecting specific pieces that can be visually presented and thoughtfully framed within ELSEHERE’s international context. If you are submitting essays, criticism, artist writing, or research texts, please submit to STRATUM Journal instead.
Why Submit?
We are building a living catalog and curatorial archive designed for long-term visibility and future pathways.
What selected works receive:
• Artist Catalog entry: permanent listing in the ELSEHERE Artist Catalog
• Dedicated work page or dossier: a stable page built for viewing, sharing, and reference
• Editorial framing: clear credits, captions, and contextual text that makes the work legible beyond your immediate scene
• Distribution: integration into ELSEHERE’s editorial channels and social releases across regions
What may follow (select cases):
• Invitations for future commissions, co-programming, Labs, and cross-border projects
• Consideration for label artist pathways as the roster develops
• Curatorial introductions to aligned partners and institutions when relevant
Non-exclusive. You retain full copyright.
We welcome works from artists and collectives whose practices move between:
• Performance, choreography, embodied practice (with documentation)
• Moving image, film, video, screen-based work
• Installation and spatial practice (documented)
• Photography, still image, mixed media
• Digital, web-based, algorithmic, hybrid formats
• Sound and voice-based work when it can be held in a visual frame (video stills, documentation, graphic scores)
No fixed theme. We are especially drawn to works that:
• Carry a clear conceptual core, not just surface effect
• Show a distinct language and sensibility
• Move between bodies, images, technologies, and narratives
• Cross cultural, geographic, or linguistic boundaries
• Expand how art can exist in a more-than-human era
• Sit just before existing categories and labels
Scale is not the point. One strong piece with clarity and its own vocabulary is enough.
All submissions must be capable of digital presentation.
We accept:
• Images: stills, installation views, documentation
• Video: documentation or screen recordings (Vimeo/YouTube preferred)
• Notation: diagrams, scores, visual notes for process-based work
For performers and researchers: we value the intangible, but for this call your documentation must function as the bridge that lets the work be seen on screen.
• Open worldwide to individuals and collectives
• Completed works or clearly articulated ongoing series
• All languages welcome; non-verbal narratives encouraged
