MorDance Company Auditions

MorDance, a contemporary ballet company based in the New York region, is seeking dancers for upcoming contracts.

We are currently hiring one dancer of any gender for immediate placement with the company. In addition, we anticipate hiring one male and one female dancer for Fall 2026 contracts.

About MorDance

MorDance is at a pivotal moment of growth. The company is currently building a 150-seat performing arts center and rehearsal facility in Dobbs Ferry, NY, approximately a 35–45 minute train ride from Manhattan, scheduled for completion later this year. This new home will serve as a regional cultural hub and marks a major step in the company’s long-term development.

MorDance dancers perform original works by Artistic Director Morgan McEwen and collaborate on projects that engage audiences through performance, dialogue, and community connection.

The company is known for bold contemporary ballet that engages with social, environmental, and civic themes, and we are seeking artists who are technically strong, creatively curious, and passionate about connecting dance with community and storytelling.

Contract Details

MorDance offers year-round contracts, with scheduled off months in August and December.

Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Rehearsal Pay: $24/hour
Performance Pay: $200 per performance

In addition to regular rehearsals, dancers participate in performances, open rehearsals, community engagement events, and educational programming throughout the year.

As MorDance continues to grow, we are actively working to expand dancers’ contracts and increase opportunities for engagement.

While our permanent space is currently under construction, the company is operating in a transitional rehearsal period, working in various studio spaces throughout New York City. Despite this temporary logistical shift, MorDance’s programming and performance schedule continue to expand rapidly, reflecting the company’s significant growth over the past several seasons.
