'FORCE' Annual Flash-Mob with STEME DANCE NYC

Join STEME DANCE NYC for our third annual flash mob performance of 'FORCE'!

This special performance happens on May 4th, at 3pm, in Central Park. There are 4 phrases of choreography, each done facing a different direction (north, east, south, then west). We perform each phase in a flocking style, within a clump as one group. The performance happens in the south end of the park, where people can observe our silent performance. 'FORCE' is recorded from many angles, and we put the recordings together into one film, which is then submitted to dance film festivals, and other arenas where dance films are presented.

Here is a video of our performance of 'FORCE' in 2024, which has since been showcased in NYC, as well as featured on the Times Square billboard.

We will have 1 in person rehearsal together at Brooklyn Arts Exchange, on Saturday, May 2, from 2-3pm. This rehearsal is not required, but extremely helpful to the group! If you are unable to attend the rehearsal but still want to be included in the project- you may! A google drive folder will be shared via email to all participants no later than April 26, so that you can prepare the movement phrases before the in person rehearsal.

A performance stipend of $30 is paid by Venmo or Zelle, the day of the performance to all participants.

If you are interested (or have a friend that would be interested) in recording the performance of 'FORCE', but not interested in the dancing, you will also receive a $30 stipend (and we will need to use your iPhone, or camera).
