JCAL's Making Moves Dance Festival 2018 is a platform for emerging artists of all genres to be presented on professional stages at JPAC during the two-day festival that celebrates artists from all walks of life and cultures Presenting Bold Ideas.The workshops are organized to help artists better understand the application process for the Making Moves Dance Festival (MMDF).

The two-day workshop series offers an overview of the MMDF application process in a congenial joyful atmosphere. We have invited guest panelists from the dance, administration, and foundation sectors. All with advanced skills in arts administration, producing and marketing.

Guest panelists will offer practical training and insight into the process of finding money and performance opportunities for your work in today’s very competitive creative sector.

11:00 am Writing Down the Bones for Dance

Grant Narratives (in General) overview

11:15 am  Step One - Project Development and Research

How do we translate our ideas to the Project

The Process of Researching the Project and Creating Timeline

Linking Artistic Vision to funder’s objectives (both MMDF & general fund raising process)

12:00 Step Two - Communicating your Vision

Writing the Narrative and creating a flow for the full proposal request

Aligning your Narrative to the Event’s/Organization’s/Foundation’s
