An Afro-contemporary dance theater company seeks a positive and dependable individual to join its talented team as a Social Media Marketing Intern. Gifted En Movement currently tours and provides consulting services to clients in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Europe. The Social Media Marketing Intern supports the company’s digital advertising, and correspondence with other company staff members. This is an internship with potential to grow into a full-time, paid position.

 

Mission

To promote African Diaspora movement from a holistic, integrative approach, facilitating dance engagements that foster socially and spiritually creative dance artists and diverse global communities

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Create engaging social media content under the supervision of the Marketing Manager across all DTH social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Vimeo.

Create and implement strategy to grow followers and engagement on all channels, ensuring content is aligned with marketing

Develop monthly social media plans in collaboration with the Marketing Manager.

Planning and scheduling meetings.

Oversee digital advertising campaigns, including Google Search and Display.

Analyze and report monthly on results across channels.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years experience in social media/digital marketing, preferably in the cultural sector

Ability to evolve techniques with the changing landscape of digital marketing

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and various website design sites including Squarespace and Wix

Understanding of Facebook and Google Search & Display advertising

An aesthetic eye and superb communication, writing, and proofing skills.

Self-driven; able to multitask and meet deadlines.

Experience with a performing arts organization is a plus.
